UK Plant Operators, meet the sponsor focus on GKD

More latterly the business has branched out into the fast-growing related field of Proximity Warning Systems with its SensorZone range of products and solutions which are sold and marketed around the World. For the UK market GKD provides some of the core hardware and software components to SiteZone Safety which underpins its market leading SiteZone offering.

The SensorZone System offers an audible and visual early warning system to both the operator of a machine and a pedestrian worker and is designed to reduce the risk of vehicle-personnel collisions.

At GKD we are acutely aware of the growing importance that technology is playing in improving safety on the worksite. With increasing levels of government investment in infrastructure projects and the rapid adoption of newer technologies there is mounting pressure in the industry to find and train operators with the requisite skillsets.

Today’s operators must embrace and master complex machine systems to work smarter and maximise efficiency and productivity. Digitalisation, machine control, and all number of variations of retrofit safety equipment mean that higher levels of machine training are required for an operator to confidently control modern-day plant and equipment.

David Perez, CEO GKD said, “We are delighted at GKD to be supporting ‘UK Plant Operator of 2021’ which helps to showcase the skills and talents of plant operators across the country. This type of initiative provides us with a fantastic opportunity to truly understand the practical challenges faced by modern day operators and ultimately these insights will help guide our thinking when developing the next generation of flexible, modular safety systems. This contest will celebrate the work of the most skilled men and women operators and we hope that such a high-profile event will help attract new entrants to the industry and go some way to fill the ever-widening skills gap. We are proud to be involved”.
