GKD and G.O.S. Tools and Engineering Services have been working together to improve rail safety in the UK for over 15 years, making them one of our longest-serving and most-valued partners.

About G.O.S.

G.O.S. are a family-owned business that occupy a large 3 acre site in picturesque South Wales. Founded over 50 years ago, they have grown from small beginnings to become a market leader in the field of road rail equipment with over 130 employees.

The company specialises in the manufacture, conversion and supply of road rail vehicles (RRV’s) from many of the leading names in the industry, such as Doosan, Komatsu and JCB.

Onsite they also have extensive fabrication and assembly facilities, which enables them to manufacture a range of rail and civil ancillary equipment.

The partnership

GKD and G.O.S. have been working together since the early naughties; always looking to innovate and offer the safest solution to their customers. G.O.S. were the first rail converter in the UK to offer a Network Rail approved tandem lift solution with no additional derate on the machines used.

As a key supplier of RRV conversions, upgrades and refurbishments, G.O.S. have had the opportunity to install safety solutions from GKD. As such, they have seen the evolution of our safety systems from the 3RCI, SpaceGuard and now the Series 3 solution. They have played a key part in supporting the development of the product range, helping GKD to understand the changing demands of the rail market.

When asked about the partnership with GKD, Carl Jones (Rail Director at G.O.S.), said:

We’ve had a long and successful partnership with GKD. We share an aim to make the rail industry a safer place to work, and together I believe we can continue to push boundaries and build upon the progress made over the last 15 years.

David Perez, CEO at GKD Technologies, also commented:

GKD’s partnership with G.O.S. is something we place great value on and hope will continue for years to come. Their in-depth knowledge of the rail industry, along with their skilled and experienced workforce, make them a key partner in our efforts to drive forward safety and keep even more workers safe across the UK.
